Role Overview

Our client is a boutique luxury design-build company specializing in high-end, custom-built residences in Metro Detroit. They are seeking a highly experienced Lead Architect to oversee the entire design division. This role is ideal for a visionary leader with expertise in luxury residential design and the ability to manage teams, clients, and projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design division, overseeing architectural and interior design.
• Manage the full architectural design process, from schematic design to construction documentation.
• Collaborate with clients to capture their vision, preferences, and functional needs.
• Work with civil engineers and landscaping designers to develop site plans that meet budget and zoning requirements.
• Present opportunities for clients to enhance projects with additional features and amenities.
• Guide clients in selecting exterior materials for cohesion, feasibility, and curb appeal.
• Integrate infrastructure elements such as insulation, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and home automation.
• Mentor and oversee architects, designers, and the interiors team.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and best practices.
• Partner with construction leadership and purchasing teams for smooth execution.
• Stay updated on trends, materials, and technologies in luxury residential architecture.
• Represent the company at client presentations, meetings, and industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in high-end custom home design.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and related tools.
• Strong client relationship and presentation skills.
• Deep understanding of materials, construction methods, and building systems for luxury homes.
• Ability to persuade clients on premium design elements and innovative features.
• Skilled at managing multiple projects with creativity and attention to detail.
• Positive, solutions-driven mindset with the ability to inspire teams.
