Project Manager / Estimator
Michigan | Local Road & Infrastructure Projects
An established Michigan-based road and infrastructure contractor is hiring a Project Manager / Estimator due to growth and backlog expansion. There is also flexibility for a PM/Estimator hybrid depending on experience. This is a growth-driven opportunity for professionals experienced in self-perform concrete, asphalt paving (HMA), and underground utilities within municipal and union environments. Projects are primarily local and regional municipal road, paving, and infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Do – Project Manager (Construction)

Oversee municipal road and infrastructure construction projects
-
Manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field teams
-
Coordinate with municipalities, engineers, and union trades
-
Track production, cost control, and profitability
-
Ensure compliance with safety and union requirements

Drive project execution from preconstruction through closeout
What You’ll Do – Estimator
-
Prepare accurate cost estimates for municipal road and paving work

Analyze plans and specifications for concrete, asphalt, and utilities
-
Develop takeoffs for self-perform concrete and underground utilities
-
Work closely with operations and field leadership
-
Support bid strategy and competitive positioning
Must-Haves
-
Experience in municipal road construction
-
Background in self-perform concrete (roads, bridges, flatwork)

Underground utilities experience
-
Asphalt / HMA experience preferred
-
Union environment experience strongly preferred
-
Ability to operate in Michigan municipal construction markets
Preferred Experience
-
7+ years of relevant experience
-
Experience with airport paving or mainline paving

Background with union road-building contractors
-
Experience in asphalt paving or site development firms
