Concrete Estimator ~ Civil Infrastructure Projects ~ Metro Detroit
The Birmingham Group is partnering with a well-established construction firm to identify an experienced Concrete Estimator to join their growing team.
This role is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for civil infrastructure and concrete projects across a diverse portfolio, including new construction, renovations, expansions, and service work. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of civil scopes and cost drivers, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams during preconstruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil and concrete construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Support value engineering and budgeting efforts
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure smooth project handoff
- Maintain organized documentation throughout the estimating process
Qualifications
- 8+ years of civil construction experience, with a focus on estimating
- Strong background in civil infrastructure and concrete scopes
- Experience across new construction, renovations, and expansions
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Exposure to project management or field operations
