Federal Construction Superintendent – Jackson, MS

One of Mississippi’s most respected General Contractors is hiring a Federal Construction Superintendent to lead complex, mission-critical projects from the field.

This isn’t a role for someone who needs to be managed. You’ll run the project — schedules, subcontractors, documentation, and safety — from mobilization to punch list. The backlog is strong. The work is meaningful. The company is stable.

Salary: $110,000 – $145,000 | Confidential Search

What You’ll Do

• Manage all field operations on federal and healthcare construction projects from mobilization through closeout
• Coordinate subcontractors, trade crews, and on-site quality control across VA, DoD, and hospital projects
• Own schedule, safety compliance, daily logs, and federal project documentation
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders in coordination with the PM
• Serve as primary field contact for owner representatives, federal inspectors, and project partners
• Lead work in both occupied and unoccupied facility environments

Must-Haves

• 8+ years of commercial construction experience on projects $5M–$50M+
• Federal construction experience required — VA, DoD, or Army Corps
• Hospital construction experience strongly preferred
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Strong command of RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and federal project documentation
• Proven ability to manage projects independently with minimal office oversight

Preferred Qualifications

• Active or able to obtain federal security clearance
• Veteran background — a plus for federal project experience and client relationships
• Experience with healthcare renovation in occupied, ICRA-compliant environments
