Heavy Civil Estimator – Metro Detroit
$135,000 – $150,000 + Company Vehicle
Our client is a fast-growing, site work and underground utilities contractor at a pivotal point in its growth story. This is a lean, three-partner company that’s scaled from the ground up to a $15M+ backlog and is currently beating growth projections.
Our client is looking for a senior Estimator who wants more than a takeoff job, someone ready to own the bid process from start to finish and grow into a leadership role as the company scales.
What You’ll Do
Lead estimates from initial scope review through final bid submission not just quantity takeoffs
Build and manage bids in Bid2Win/B2W
Develop sharp, margin-conscious pricing strategy that wins competitive bids
Estimate site work and underground utility scopes: storm drain, water and sanitary sewer, detention systems, and pump stations
Partner closely with ownership and operations to refine bid strategy as the company grows
What We’re Looking For
10+ years of senior-level estimating experience, with a track record of running bids independently
Strong background in site work / underground utilities; municipal street experience a plus
Proficiency with Bid2Win/B2W or comparable bidding software
A collaborative, no-drama mindset to work with small, tight-knit team. Culture fit matters as much as technical skill
Open to candidates with 3–5 years of runway left in their career. Experience and stability is valued, not just long-term tenure
Open to non-degreed, field-up candidates.
