(WFSB) – If you are on the job hunt, it’s possible the jobs you are applying to aren’t even real. A ‘MyPerfectResume’ study finds more than 80% of recruiters admit to posting listings for jobs that don’t exist, called “ghost jobs.”
Jacob Binke is a managing partner of The Birmingham Group, an affiliate of Sanford Rose Associates, a recruiting network with locations in Connecticut.
“There’s so many reasons why, you know, one is to collect resumes in mass,” said Jacob Binke.
Binke estimates 25% of job postings are ghost jobs. MyPerfectResume polled 753 recruiters across the country and 81% admitted to posting fake job listings.
